The Washington County Poorhouse was built in 1827 in Argyle, N.Y., on the present site of the Pleasant Valley Infirmary. It was also known, in later years, by various other names such as the Almshouse, the County Farm, the Washington County Home, and the Pleasant Valley Infirmary.
